Best smartwatches under ₹5,000

Updated 16 August 2026

Almost every smartwatch under ₹5,000 makes health claims it cannot support. Treat SpO2, blood pressure and "stress" readings on these as decoration. What they genuinely do well is notifications, step counting, sleep timing and calls — judge them on that.

What to look for under ₹5,000

AMOLED and always-on, or accept squinting

AMOLED is standard at this price now and LCD models are not worth the saving. Check the stated nits: under 500 is unreadable in Indian daylight.

Bluetooth calling is the real feature

It is the one thing at this price that changes how you use the watch day to day. Check the microphone position and reviews of call clarity, not just that the feature exists.

Battery: judge the always-on figure

Brands quote battery life with the display off. The honest number is the always-on-display figure, usually a third of the headline. If it is not stated, assume the worst.

Standard 20mm or 22mm straps

Proprietary straps mean that when the strap dies at eighteen months — and it will before the watch does — the watch dies with it.

What to avoid

  • Any watch advertising blood-pressure or ECG monitoring at this price. It is not medically meaningful and should not inform a health decision.
  • "100+ sports modes" — they are the same timer with different icons.
  • Watches with no named app, or an app with a rating below 4.0. The app is most of the experience.
